Where CWI Customers Use Our Resistance Wire

Resistance wire is used in a variety of applications across various industries. Resistance wire is used to control the amount of current in a circuit. Due to resistance wire’s high resistivity, it is able to easily convert electrical energy into heat. You can usually find resistance wire in applications that require heat, like electric ovens, toasters, and industrial heating systems, as well as applications that use circuit boards. Central Wire Industries manufactures resistance wire in a plethora of sizes, diameters, and alloys, which are then used by our customers in their applicational needs. Semiconductor processing is used to make semiconductor devices. Semiconductor devices are things like integrated circuit (IC) chips, which are used in modern computer processors, and memory chips like DRAM, which are found in everyday electronic devices. Semiconductor processing takes place in a multi-step sequence of photolithographic and chemical processing steps. During this process, electronic circuits are created on a wafer made of pure semiconducting material. Our resistance wire is used within the electronic circuits used to operate the integrated circuit chips.

Floor Heating Systems:

Floor heating systems are an effective and energy efficient way to provide heat to your home while keeping energy costs low. Floor heating systems are typically installed in bathrooms, kitchens, and bedrooms, but they can be installed anywhere you want. These types of heating systems use electrical resistance to generate heat, meaning that they use resistance wire. The heat generated is then radiated to the solid objects in the room. In this application, our resistance wire is used to generate the heat within the flooring, providing an energy efficient way for customers to heat their homes.

Central Wire Industries produces resistance wire which is bought by customers to use in a variety of applications. Our resistance wire is manufactured in a variety of alloys including copper, copper nickel, nickel, nichrome, iron chrome aluminum, 300 series stainless steel, brass, and bronze. We manufacture our resistance wire in diameters ranging from 0.001” – 0.0808” (0.0254mm – 2.052mm). We offer tempers from annealed to full hard and tolerance per the American Wire Gauge values, which are: ± 5% 15-36 gauge | ± 8% 37-41 gauge | ± 10% 42 gauge.
