For Immediate Release

Central Wire Industries employees are paying it forward by using their coronavirus vaccinations to assist a community in need.

The Central Wire Houston location recently donated $400 to city charity Cy-Fair Helping Hands.
Cy-Fair offers a community food pantry, homeless prevention and outreach, toy and school supply drives, and more.
“This organization is doing a lot for our community,” said CWI Wire Division President Kevin Higgins. “We have a duty to help out our neighbors that may be experiencing hunger and homelessness.”
CY-Fair Helping Hands is a 501(c)(3) all-volunteer organization with no paid employees. All the organization’s funding comes from individuals, churches, businesses and organizations.
Cy-Fair Helping Hands Homeless Initiatives Founder and Director Jean Dreyer offered a “big thank you” to the employees of Central Wire Industries.
“We are grateful for the support from Central Wire and all of our other local businesses,” Dreyer said.
The donation has been in the works for several months.
Donations were made possible through CWI employees choosing to receive a coronavirus vaccination. Once an employee received their vaccine, a $50 contribution was made to a general donation fund. $400 of that fund was given to the homeless and hunger initiative this week.
The Houston CWI location is now fully vaccinated. As part of the company’s commitment to the health and safety of its staff, all employees must be fully vaccinated by October 29.
“We encouraged our employees to receive the vaccination when they were able to,” Higgins said. “This donation incentive was an easy way to support our employees, and our neighbors, at the same time.”
